We are pleased to present this new compilation of scientific articles published by our journal "Medicina Intensiva" on the management of critically ill children.
Under this heading, we will be gradually including original research, literature reviews, and case series published by our journal. This will provide a comprehensive view of the challenges and advancements made in the management of critically ill children in the intensive care unit setting.
In addition to classic topics such as hemodynamics, infections, respiratory support, or metabolic and renal care, emerging themes and promising research areas will be explored as well. Examples of these include immune analysis, the use of innovative technologies in monitoring and treatment, or the psychological impact of admission to the pediatric intensive care unit on patients and their families.
In conclusion, the aim of this new compilation we present is to provide easy and centralized access to evidence-based information relevant to health care professionals involved in the management of critically ill children.
We hope that this initiative proves useful to the reader, both in obtaining answers and formulating future work and clinical questions.
